Improved & expanded tagging/flagging of models
Intuitive QA tagging and potential for other tags/flags - for example on models with a focus on energy efficiency we might want to have flag that says “You may want to consider rebound effects” that links to a doc page. Other uses as well, imagining a flexible system.

Change "Customize Forecast" language to "Clone" terminology
This has come up in the past, but I didn’t see it documented on our public roadmap — it would be good to rename the “Customize Forecast” terms to “Clone” or similar so that the terms match what’s happening for the user. Also flagging that we’ll need to update docs anytime stuff like this (big and small) changes, for example, it’d need to be updated in the example in the quickstart guide that uses the term Customize Forecast:

v0 Model Quality table for self-service (after questionnaire-based model gen)
When a brand new model is generated (once Koi Engine becomes available for self-service options), it would be really valuable to get a snapshot and context for the user about what the model’s perceived strengths and weakness are, e.g. “these parameters were AI-generated and significantly impact the results. we recommend starting your improvements here, using Koi Studio.” This could be some kind of Model Data Quality assessment table, or helper tips. Not overwhelming to the user, but acting like a compass for them (if the guardrails in the App aren’t extremely clear and the direction of the flow clear, then they’ll need a “compass”)

Explaining difference between Avoided Emissions accounting vs. forecasting
It would be nice to describe how/why forecasting of avoided emissions is distinct and complementary to avoided emissions accounting, especially because the ex ante development of these models leads to more robust (and harder-to-game) ex post evaluations of impact. For example, investors, startups, and auditors/assurers can and should agree in advance how they will evaluated avoided emissions, so that clear goal lines are establish and model updates. For example, updating (E)stimated values in forecasts to (A)ctual values for reporting.

Baseline Scenarios search not returning top relevant results
The Baseline Scenarios search isn’t returning results that are most relevant. As an example, I was trying to look at the models connected to the baseline “Battery pack production with conventionally mined materials”, but it doesn’t show up at all in the Baseline Scenarios results, even if I include the full name or parts of the description. That baseline is from the following model, if helpful: https://app.koi.eco/solution-detail/023604/1-5.

Categories and Technologies Covered
Have a Koi docs page dedicated to summarizing what we have deep experience modeling and has complete highly QAed models in Koi. Start with a static docs page that includes a table of sectors/categories and a sampling of technologies within each sector (can pull from HMC work). Eventually may want to create our own chatbot so users can type custom requests and it returns results similar to the search engine but in chat format.

Updated number handling on charts
On all of the charts right now in-app, the axes numbers are overly specific. I think they would be better if the increments were round. We should also consider which charts should be forced to start at 0. For example on the following plot, the y-axis should probably start at 0, and then have increments of 5000, 10000, 15000. To me it is distracting and conveys false precision to have the non-rounded numbers.

Better handling of generic units
Sometimes we are using “generic units” (for example, a recent model I did the functional unit was TWh-eq computing, so I had the uom be “unit” and the widget be “TWh-eq computing”). It shows up fine in the charts, but see screenshot for the way this is displayed in the dropdown menu; we probably want it to be using the widget somehow when the uom is literally “unit”.

Collections view default years & units
When viewing a collection, it defaults to certain year bounds (2025 - 2035) and units (mixed units). It would be great to have the default be whatever was last selected. Example: I made a collection for a client, they were interested in results out to 2050. Every time I navigated to the collections page I would need to reselect the correct time frame and Mt CO2 units.
