Creating a new feature page for Projected Market Uptake
A new page for all information related to projected market uptakes is a good way to highlight its significance and connection to AEF calculations.
Creating a new science page for GHG intensities in the Key Concepts tab
I think that creating a new page to add Koi GHG Intensity information (From the change log) would be a great addition to the existing science concepts. It would allow users to look at the GHG intensity information along with other scientific terminology so they would be able to understand the technical concepts behind the data they are exploring with more clarity.
Available geographies, UOMs, etc
It would be super cool and useful to have a live page somewhere (was thinking in Docs somewhere) of Koi dbase-compatible Geography names, UOMs and any other key inputs that require exact matches during ingestion.
Explaining difference between Avoided Emissions accounting vs. forecasting
It would be nice to describe how/why forecasting of avoided emissions is distinct and complementary to avoided emissions accounting, especially because the ex ante development of these models leads to more robust (and harder-to-game) ex post evaluations of impact. For example, investors, startups, and auditors/assurers can and should agree in advance how they will evaluated avoided emissions, so that clear goal lines are establish and model updates. For example, updating (E)stimated values in forecasts to (A)ctual values for reporting.
Could add section on relevant summaries / reports...
that are not themselves methodologies, e.g. recent GIIN guidance and Ceres avoided emissions paper
Adding additional methodologies info
To Add to Methodologies Relevant to Koi page: Mission Innovation Avoided Emissions Framework, WBCSD avoided emissions (original and latest drafts), GHG Protocol, PCAF (mostly focused on allocation and attribution, latest draft), Climate Dividends protocol, IGCC, Y Analytics (yield), Project Drawdown, and Mirova/Robeco AEFDi (fortchoming)
Categories and Technologies Covered
Have a Koi docs page dedicated to summarizing what we have deep experience modeling and has complete highly QAed models in Koi. Start with a static docs page that includes a table of sectors/categories and a sampling of technologies within each sector (can pull from HMC work). Eventually may want to create our own chatbot so users can type custom requests and it returns results similar to the search engine but in chat format.
How-to guide to apply adjustment factors at collection level
Can do examples that cover rebound effects, allocation, others? Show where to enter these values at the collection level.
"Anatomy" of a Koi model
Description of data elements in Koi; models/clusters → analyses → records. I think this will be helpful for describing how analysis are different than models, and how you can add multiple analysis to one collection to show a sensitivity analysis.
Koi Data Lake vs. Koi Studio vs. Koi Engine
Short description/definition of these different “parts” of Koi
Tutorials for custom modeling
A step-by-step tutorial showing the in-app process and scientific logic for creating and interpreting an entirely custom model.
Why not “just get an LCA”?
This is a common but misguided statement from those who don’t fully understand what an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) actually is, what it entails, or what it truly means. It’s similar to how “network effect” is often misused in tech circles—oversimplified and thrown around without real depth. There are technical, investor, product, and sales angles we could explore to break this down: • Technical: The complexity, variability, and limitations of LCAs. • Investor: Why relying solely on LCAs is insufficient for capital allocation. • Product: How Koi provides a more actionable and scalable approach. • Sales: How to shift conversations away from LCA fixation to real impact forecasting. This could be a key entry in the Koi documentation, helping clarify misconceptions while reinforcing the value of avoided emissions modeling.
